PHILADELPHIA | Revival Hotel | 155 FT | 14 FLOORS

Title: Revival Hotel
Project: Hotel
Architect: DAS Architects
Developer: Cherry Orchard
Location: Intersection of Cherry and 15th, Philadelphia, PA
Neighborhood: Logan Square
District: Center City
Floors: 14 floors
Height: 155 feet

Zoning Permit: https://s3.amazonaws.com/lni-zoning-pdfs/27-336084.pdf
https://philly.curbed.com/2019/1/7/1...el-center-city
Quote:
“Our endeavor is to develop something unique for Philadelphia that will benefit the city. We are working extensively with our architect & design team at DAS to create an environment that is unique in personality, and never cookie-cutter,” Cherry Orchard spokesperson Timothy Lau said in an email Monday. Property owners and NY-based developers Cherry Orchard LLC are overseeing space, with help from Philly-based architecture firm DAS Architects.

Lau called the development a “passion project” that his entire family has taken on, adding they stumbled across the space on one of their many visits to the city.

“We saw potential in this under-utilized property as an amazing entry way towards Center City,” Lau wrote.
Summers said that this qualified for a thread, but I can't get the height from the zoning permit to make sure.

Nice. Have you considered becoming a mod McGrath? You've made a couple new threads now. It seems ours haven't been too active lately, since Summers is busy with a new job or something.

I can neither confirm nor deny the possibility that I may be in the running for moderator. Summers tells me that he's working on it.

By my estimates, this tower is about 170 feet tall.

Looks like this will be called the "Revival Hotel."

2 new boutique hotels for Center City

Quote:
Two new boutique hotels are planned for Center City, each seeking to capture a different niche in the market.

In the Midtown section of Philadelphia, Estia Group, a family-owned company known locally for its Greek restaurant Estia and Italian restaurant Pietro’s, plans to develop a 14-story hotel called Blu Ivy at 11th and Sansom streets that will have 86 rooms. The hotel will have a health-and-wellness focus. Closer to Love Park and the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the Lau family of New York plans at 15th and Cherry streets to develop a 14-story, 29,000-square-foot building called the Revival Hotel that will have 64 micro rooms.

I like this design so hopefully it doesn't change. A high-rise that isn't all glass or has bar code windows with metal panels is refreshing.

Hopefully the corner at Broad & Arch gets scooped up next. I loathe the tiny building on the corner. A 20-30 hi-rise that abuts Sweat & La Meridian would really complete that block.

Damn, 15 feet off. I have to work on my calculations.

Still, it's good height for that plot. Now if the lot across the street could just get filled...
