^Well it was cheating to get that spot anyways so BoA has always been irrelevant to me.

I also think BoA cheated, but back in 2009, even if we considered only roof height, BoA was still #2 in NYC:

ESB: 1,250 ft
BoA: 945 ft
Chrysler: 925 ft
Citigroup: 915 ft

Its funny as i was the one a few days back saying it looked just about complete to the roof, but its very hard to see thru the netting. Does anyone have a link or rationale to show they have actually gotten to the 1515 foot roof? thanks, j

Laguardia > JFK for views. Although if one is visiting, this might also be depressing if this is the take-off view.

He's dope, he knows that, but he's broke
He's so stacked that he knows
When he goes back to his mobile home, that's when it's
Back to the lab again yo, this whole rhapsody
He better go capture this moment and hope it don't pass him

This time 18 years ago I don't think anyone would have imagined America building this tall again. Love it.

Again? I believe you mean for the first time.

This is the first time America has had a Roof height building over 1500 feet tall.

That seems a little overly pessimistic. The airline industry only took a few years to recover. If anything it's amazing it's taken then long for a building this tall to be built in the US. The recession did far more to delay skyscraper construction than 9/11 did.

Nobody thought they would be building as tall in the immediate aftermath of 9/11 anywhere around the world. But it was the exact opposite that happened, as even in the US there were proposals for new supertalls in other cities, and the supertall boom around the world really took off. But right after 9/11, I remember reading all of the pieces about the "death" of supertall skyscrapers, or skyscrapers in general really. There was a real fear that people forget now, and in some cases still exists. Funny how time changes things.
