I liked the old design better, but I think this one has potential. It could end up surprising. I'll hold out hope for it.

On another note, I just came across these renders. I am certain they have been posted here before, but I wanted to draw attention to the detail shown displaying the beginning of the taper at the corners, beginning at a sharp 90 degree angle at the ground and curving into nice very noticeably rounded corners at the top.

And this render displays the interesting spandrel between the floors. It appears to be diagonal, indented at the bottom and flush with the windows at the top. Weird.

At least all the spandrel will be mitigated by the precast panels. One can hope the backlash from 300 Front's ugly facade over at urbantoronto will have some effect. However, the tower sold out and a part of Tridel marketing is sustainability through LEED. Vision glass window wall isn't very green.

One Bloor

Fancy Glass doesn't look like it will continue in the same form as the tower levels.

Hopefully it will still be curtain wall

Aura shows badly in photos, it honestly isn't bad in person.

Agree. AURA looks spectacular from my balcony. It didn't do itself any favours with that spandrel, but the rest of the exterior turned out well.

The lime green tint on the balconies really stands out in person. It emphasizes the different floor heights and clashes with the window wall. The curtain wall looks better in real life.

Is the false work removed? I think it actually added to the street level. Curious how it may look without it.

Not that it makes a big difference, certainly not in this list. But the actual height for One Bloor (confirmed by Great Gulf) is 833ft (254m).

take a good look at the edge of the concrete slab. It has cut outs for curtain wall anchoring system.

A drawing would be nice. I don't really like using figures from the developer. They omit things. Tucker Hirise, Hariri Pontarini, subcontractors, would be a different story. They have drawings you may be able to see. If not, you have to be quite specific with them as well.

I agree. From a distance Aura looks amazing, the top portion is a fantastic addition to the skyline. The lower part doesn't look wonderful, but it kind of blends in with other buildings to almost give the illusion from a certain perspective that it's not part of Aura.

I'm happy with how it turned out. It could have been better, but could have been a lot worse too.

The curtain wall glass is going above the podium.

Looks like we don't have to worry about cheap glass on the tower portion.

Just took a look there at the drawings - the height to the top of the roof slab is 254.3m. However - the curtain wall extends 2.9m past that for a total height of 257.2m
