[BURNABY] Telford on the Walk | 125m | 40 fl | Completed

Intracorp is proposing a new 40 floor residential tower just south of Metroplace on 6523 Telford Ave, Burnaby, in the Maywood neighbourhood of Metrotown. In addition to this, it will also have a 6 story apartment to the north of it. It is to be completed by Winter 2024 according to Intracorp (which is vague because every year has 2 winters).

I've been hoping someone would start building 6 storey buildings. All the lowrise buildings I see around Burnaby are 4 storeys (either pure residential or with ground floor retail). This will break it up a bit - plus provide some space between the towers too.

I love the second rendering because it also incorporates the Maywood on the Park proposal (currently under construction and nearing completion of the underground parkade) next door.
I guess given the fact that its the same developer, I believe (Intercorp) they can do that and show them together.

I like how it begins to give an impression of how that second row of towers (including Sun Tower 2 in between them once that's complete too) is going to look and fit in with that Beresford Tower row.

You also get a clearer idea of a realization of the city's vision and plan of the tower's stepping down and getting shorter as you go farther south from Beresford.

That's a surprisingly big gap between this and Metroplace. I somehow though that this was coming in at 37 floors but happy to see it being 40.

This is Intracorp's facebook posting of the same pic above which labels 4 of their 9 past and current projects in the Metrotown area:

Apparently the boulders are an art installation by Douglas Coupland.

Moving up from 37 floors to 40 floors.
(Thread title seemed to have been wrong but is now correct?)

Nice! With the new height of 125 metres whoever moved to our previous home at the top of Metroplace (141 metres) should still, although just barely, see above this building. This area is definitely becoming rather dense!

I didn't know the ocean was right next to Burnaby - has Vancouver (and north Bby) become the new Atlantis?

That's a really old picture they used. I am still living on top of Metroplace.

I walked by yesterday and they have cleared the entire lot! It is super open now and must mean that construction will begin still this year. The area is definitely getting more dense very quickly!

Fog is used to cover the shame of Vancouver's flatness.

2. Interesting bit of confirmation from Monday's council meeting agenda - the Anthem site on Kingsway & Hazel (Across from Station Square) is apparently confirmed to be 66 storeys, and 211 m high. It'll be heading to public hearing on July 27th. Fingers crossed we see some renderings then! See page 181 here: https://pub-burnaby.escribemeetings....cumentId=52611

Red crane is now up on the site, so this is formally U/C.

That's wild. The period of time between renders going up to construction was about a year. In Vancouver, ha, good luck.
