For someone like myself who is stuck in the cold & soon to be snowy (tomorrow) Midwest, seeing these photos is killing me.

Amazing shots! I can look at these forever!

I can clearly remember when the South Pointe condo tower was the tallest on the South Beach skyline. The transformation is amazing, to say nothing of what's happened across the bay...

Really great new shots now that all the construction and cranes are down. Its amazing how big and tall BofA used to look, now its dwarfed...

What I find so interesting about the 2004 to 2010 comparison is that, the impressive infill aside, the dominate towers from 2004 remain as such in 2010. This boom produced NO new memorable downtown Miami skyscrapers, though it sure did beef up the skyline.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head with this one. We were a bit disappointed that a new tallest did not emerge from this most recent and very "historic" boom for the amount of tall buildings that actually made it to construction, but there are taller buildlings in the planning stages for whenever there is an economic recovery for the market. This latest "boom" produced too many short mid-rise condos.

One Bayfront Plaza, a mixed-use supertall now planned at 1,010 feet, is still on schedule to break ground sometime next year. It will not be completed until 2014-2015. Who knows what will happen between now and then? All we can do now is wait and see what else we get.

Yeah, I agree. Basically just a replication of the balcony high-rise with minor cosmetic differences over and over. I watched all of these go up over the past 10 years and the result is pretty disappointing for all of the construction, really.
