Oh... I dunno...
Sticking out like a sore thumb now on that century old stone section. I didn't realize how much the ugly old brownish siding blended that building. Doesn't look like it fits anymore.

The building across the street will have a brand new black facade soon. North of 441 Main will get some sort of new development eventually. All the lots behind 433 on Bannatyne will eventually get developed as well. Won't stick out.

I think it looks good. Gru's lair. Next to the original CWB building, which has a certain gothic feel to it IMO.

^ Yeah... those are all heritage buildings around there?! I'm having a hard time thinking of a suitable candidate for a new façade anywhere close to 433 Main.

Doesn't show any lighting scheme in the night time rendering but it would sure look cool if the embossed black trim detail would get some LED strips kinda like Aura in Toronto or at least like the Marlborough... Overall it's quite a striking change.

I believe 474 Main St. (former antique store). I think a perfumery or something of the like is going in there. I think renders of the new facade were posted on the Winnipeg forum a while back.

Given that it is not a large area to work with, replacing the facade with red brick would make me happy...not as happy as replacing it with a skinny tower, but....

Yes I was referring to 474 Main.

The Main-facing facade is set to be some sort of retail, I'd be surprised if a perfumery since Denatured just opened on Princess and is one of only a few in Canada. The back half, facing Bannatyne is going to be a cocktail bar.

Whoops, you're right.

I looked back and that perfumery was being discussed around the same time as this building was.

Anyway, here's the render of the renovations:

All the signage is off the podium, will be interesting to see if there's a reclad or just painting the concrete black like the top of the building.

I like how the 433 re-clad makes the building stand out. Coming south on main it used to blend in over the other buildings. Now it pops out and looks great.

That sucks. I wonder if they figured out a way to make a rooftop. With those prices having zero outdoor space and not being able to BBQ is a tough go. Also I found out that there's no cats or dogs allowed in the building – it's some weird rule the federal government has about their offices. That will turn away a lot of potential renters.

The rents are insane. Same owners at the Pumphouse, full of drug dealers.

They do not care who they rent to.

I heard one suite at the Dumphouse was already destroyed.

Terrible layouts too.

What a shame.

I recently saw some pictures on Instagram from inside one of the apartments looking east into the Exchange and the view and aesthetics of the apartment were just incredible. Especially with the autumn colours.

I got a good look at the outside of the building the other day. I think it looks really sharp. Even though its mainly just glass and black panels, with those vertical fins and opening windows, the building had some nice texture to it.

This is absolutely NOT true! I have a friend who is living in one of the units and absolutely loves it. The Pumphouse is a fantastic project... it's good to see phase 2 rolling along nicely. Alexander 90... I'm not sure what your issue is? Are you the one who built apartments further north on Waterfront? If so, aren't more projects and higher rents in the area a good thing? I'm confused.

A condo owner at 300 Waterfront emailed me pics of drug deals happening there.

They like to walk across the street to Juba Park.

They also have a punk and his girlfriend who live there throw eggs at the building and he as it on video and he knows COPS and the punk was arrested.

We know females that moved out of the Pumphouse cuz they couldn't stand it.

Sketchy building.

Say what you want.

The rents are going down too.
