The most obvious ones, worldwide, for me are NYC's Tower Verre (cut from 1250' to 1050' and now barely visible on the skyline) and Shenzhen's Ping An Center, where the spire was cut at the last second and it got a stupid triangle hat instead. Those are the 2 biggest disappointments for me, outside of my city (Boston) which is full of its own disappointments.

That one building in Nashville. With the proportions it has it looks like it was supposed to be a supertall but ended up being short and stubby. Really awkward looking building to be honest.

Yeah... Union Trust is one of the most grand buildings (inside and out) you can find anywhere, but goes largely unnoticed because of its relatively short stature and its being surrounded by Pittsburgh's tallest buildings.

West America Bank (300 Capital Mall)

Built in 1984-Sacramento

I'm not really a fan of reflective glass, but this may be the one exception.

Probably should've been a bit taller; 400-450 feet would have been perfect imo.

I feel like it would fit in perfectly on the Gran Plas in Brussels.

also in the deco days they didn't want buildings to be taller in cleveland so much as they wanted the downtown sidewalks to be taller --

yeah, I've always thought building was a disappointment as far as height goes... thought about this many times while viewing it from Jacobs Field.

Also, I wish they'd take all that shit off the crown.

Yikes. That building was already too tall when they finished the foundation.

Oh, I was pretty sure you were talking about the Pinnacle at Symphony Place:

From the first time I saw this building (online, never in person), I thought it looked so stubby and poorly proportioned. I personally think the 'Batman building' is a fine height for what it is.

I like that building. That's a style that looks good at any height.

It looks good as a super tall and a regular tall:

This is way too short, they really should do something about it.

Yeah I think the same applies to this one too. I don't get why architects do this. Giving stubby buildings these disproportional tops with oversized crowns that clearly look like they were meant for much taller skyscrapers.

and even after they did something about it, it's still kinda stubby for a 700 footer.

just a big old textbook fat-scraper.

Phoenix: Luhrs Tower would be cool if it were close to 500 feet.

My favorite tower in Phoenix is the old Dial building, I love the design, wish it was a 750 - 1000 ft.
