If that building on Taylor is as half as nice as the rendering then it will be an absolute jewel. But it looks out of place in what is basically the Walmart parking lot, across the street from a bunch of dowdy townhouses.

If it at least partially blocks the wal mart and sea of parking, that's good.

From what I read in the clerks thing the other day, the owners of the 3 houses that the new building will replace will all own the new build. I would assume there's other people involved as well.

I disagree. That proposed apartment block on Taylor Ave. could fit just as easily at Taylor or Grant at Cambridge.

Agreed. Also removes a ton of desolate, weed-infested space & gives Route 95 less of a reason for Winnipeg Transit to shitcan it, as well.

Hard to meaningfully densify when new multifamily residential are still required to waste prime land on 1.2 parking stalls to satisfy the city's archaic requirements. Too bad Shindico didn't try to get a reduction.

There is not a single soul that would rent an apartment without a parking space. Give your head a shake.

Huh? There are tons of apartments in town with little to no parking provided, in Broadway-Assiniboine, West Broadway, Osborne Village, Corydon, etc...

What about people who do not own cars? Or do they not have souls?

I rented for 10 years without owning a car and therefore didn't ask about parking or care about it when I was apartment hunting.
