It's unfortunate that just when we are about to witness this baby rise, the world of construction comes to a halt. But lives are more important. We'll see this rise eventually. We've waited this long, a little more won't hurt.

Great to see! But I thought NYC was doing a temporary COVID-19 stop of all but a small number of development projects?

Just drawing the info from TRD discussing this;

1) " Buildings data indicates construction on three homeless shelters is ongoing. Of the essential sites, 262 involve healthcare facilities and 63 utilities. "

2) "Some sites have temporarily shut down voluntarily after employees tested positive for the virus."

3) " There are another 170 affordable projects that are labeled as emergency work on DOB’s map as of Friday, where work will be permitted to continue."

So there are exemptions. But also some can be voluntary.

Ooh, it "grew" by 33 ft. Nice find.

An 1,100 ft. tower, basically. Not too shabby.

Let's hope it stays that way. I would actually like to see more up close renderings of the crown, and different angles from what we've previously seen.

its seems obvious to me anyway that the rush to formally present was thrust on them while they were in the mist of rethinking the design, so its purposefully somewhat vague. its a place holder while they worked out the buildable version.

anyway, good to see here it seems to have gained a little height!

That’s not actually the building permit, that permit is for a lift. But the info listed there is the same as the building permit, which is from 2014. Hard to believe we’ve been at it that long.

And that comment doesn't make any sense.

Condos are apartments. And building permits don't have anything to do with whether the apartments are for sale or for rent. There is nothing on a permit that specifies the residential typology.

In Britain "apartment" is a posh condo and "flat" is a cheaper apartment, often a rental. We don't use the term condo except to refer to a whole block of flats (an apartment building) which we often call a condominium.

A large portion of the rentals will be affordable housing.

Duhh... we get that. In Canada a "condo" is a purchased individual unit, which may (or may not) be then "rented" out. A building can contain both Condos and Rental Units.

The world uses different terminologies. Personally, I enjoy learning from each other.

This is an international forum, where not everyone has the Brooklyn depth of knowledge as you.. painful as that may be to accept
