Talk about ugly! This design looks straight out of the 1970’s, ugh, I hope they tweak the design before they break ground!

Tecumseh/Lakeshore is blowing up right now! Just go out near the movie theater in Lakeshore.

I haven't heard of that Wallker Road/EC Row development, is it a residential project?

Maybe it’s the condo development that is going up at walker between the 401 and Division Rd.

Ahhhh ok, is that the one off Seventh Concession? Or am I thinking of another one? I remember seeing quite a bit of machinery around there pre-pandemic, but I guess at this point that's over a year ago

Between Provincai Rd. and the 401. It’s called Castle Gate towers.

I've been driving by this site on my way to work for 2 years now. I stopped looking since it sat empty for so long. Walker road is a traffic disaster IMO and only going to get worse.

My brother in law used to work for Coco paving and he told me plans are in the works to widen airport road and extend Lauzon parkway to the 401. Sounds like infrastructure improvements are coming in preperation for the hospital.

On a couple positive notes, it looks like the Hive continues to make progress. According to their Facebook page, third floor is poured and third floor walls will be going up soon! also, it looks like the transit master plan continues to move forward as well, Route 18, which will go from Tecumseh Mall to St. Clair via EC Row, will begin this September! Really excited to see the bigger changes starting next year with the new primary routes

I work with a lady who lives in that subdivision and she said the developer has not gotten all its approvals for the project. I think there is resistance towards the project from the subdivision.

Ahhhh I see. I'll have to keep an eye out on the council minutes and see if anything comes up for the project and any additional approvals. Hopefully it's not dead in the water and can progress

It looks like the mixed-use infill at 781 Erie St East is also coming along nicely! There's a progress pic on the Via Italia BIA instagram page. It looks like they have the first 3 floors of steel framing up, 2 more floors to go!

That’ll be a nice addition to the street once it’s completed. Little Italy needs more foot traffic, so this is perfect.

Agreed! I've been keeping my eye on this one for a while, so I'm excited to see the finished product!

It's been in the works for many years at this point. There's a few different resources if you feel like searching but this is easiest: City of Windsor Completed Environmental Assessments and scroll down to "Lauzon Parkway Improvements". It shows the new Lauzon Parkway extension and alignment, County Road 42 improvements, and a bunch of new east - west roads and roundabouts in what is currently farm land.

Some other interesting things to look at while you're there. For example: under "Howard Avenue", how the city might address that cluster bleep of traffic where Howard Ave meets South Cameron and Provincial.

Looks like more development proposals on the way this year! Another good summary article of all the developments announced last year, plus some hints at more to come this year. The most interesting thing to me though was the progress pics shown throughout the article of the GM Trim plant project. I haven't seen any updates since now, and it looks like buildings are going up! Looks like it has a name, Rosewater Estates. I found the page where you can see how the lots are subdivided at the article below as well.

Very much looking forward to seeing what else is in the works, especially in the core and DT areas of the city.

Nothing official that I know about I believe they are still in the process of site planning. This article is the last mention of the project (besides the one I shared) https://windsorstar.com/business/loc...indsor-project

According to the article, the developer is Auburn Developments, who also worked on the Barrel Yards redevelopment in Waterloo. Here's a link to their portfolio for an idea on the general style of their projects http://www.auburndev.com/portfolio/

Really hoping to hear more about this project this year. It's definitely a big one with some great potential

23 additional units being planned for the Chelsea (former YMCA on Pelissier St, next door to the Hive). Not a huge development, but more residents downtown is a plus to me It sounds like there are already apartments in the building, but they will be converting former rec space (pool area, etc) into the additional units
