No right turn at Graham for 3 years is going to suck. Who will be the first driver to get a ticket? Probably someone who turns right at Graham on the weekend as the cops will need space to write the ticket.

Ok, so the diagram on SSP is a bit taller - it's at about 500ft as opposed to 465ft

I was looking at it for a sense of scale and noticed it was taller than the listed height here

St. Mary is one block up. This is inconsequential.

Should permanently restrict vehicles from using Graham in that area.

Totally agree – always thought it was silly to allow them on that one block.

This. It's a single block where the impact to cars would be minimal and you could likely make it much nicer for pedestrians and bikes (and keep a few spots for transit vehicles to wait along the side). Especially with the new building going up. Losing all the right turning vehicles at Graham/Fort would be a huge bonus to pedestrians.

That right-hand turn from Graham onto Main southbound is a pedestrian deathtrap because people only look north down Main for oncoming traffic before turning. If you're crossing on foot from the south side they will run you down. There's probably a good case for banning right-on-red turns downtown altogether but that intersection is particularly dangerous. I suppose people should learn to look where they're going before they get licenses but I guess that's too much to ask. Graham should be all transit-only anyway.

All good ideas but how about building a road on Fort first. I see so many cars on the illegal parts of Graham these days that I think they are driving on it deliberately. Same with right turns on Donald at Portage Ave.

Remember when we were speculating about the top of 300 main with that render (on p.115) showing some sort of TV screen or possible signature lighting or something?

Look at these two pics - pay attention to the top of the building

Both look different. The first one is from their image gallery
The second one is from their main page

The second one looks newer, or more in line with the "possible signature lighting" picture that was posted a few pages back (p.115)

I wonder if this is a sign as to a potential defining feature of the tower's crown?

Maybe it will have some sort of ad capability or lighting ability? I just don't see Artis building a tower and proudly calling it Winnipeg's new tallest, without some sort of signature

You can get a good look at the roof in this video:

We only see the area in question for the first 5 seconds or so in that video, but its does look like the east and west sides of the roof are distinguished

in that image on p.115 (you posted it, I think its the only image of this tower with some kind of lighting shown), it looked like some signature lighting and had different colours, or it was some kind of advertisement that looked like it could change or something

My speculation is necessary for my obsession with news on this building going up to be satisfied lol

Just to add - notice that east facing side is the one that will most likely be in every new post card/google image shot of the city

I think that rendering was more flash than substance concerning the roof probably there to animate the darker image, i doubt there will be any lighting feature, looks like the very top is mechanical penthouse and below that an amenities floor for residents, it appears there are glass walled patios up there in the video.

Ah, yes that is more sensible. The way the flashy picture wraps around is not realistic especially on the geometry to the right side of it

My expectations have become tempered...

(Good timing too Wpg_Guy, as I had other ideas going into even crazier territory)

I could definitely see some sort of nice lighting accents up there, but would be shocked to see a video screen, at least one that would be allowed to show ads. Only way I could see the city allowing it was if there was a restaurant up there, haha.

I wonder if those wooden things they are building up are forms for the elevator shaft? They seem awfully narrow for that:
