Why 2 Civic addresses? Was it ever discussed?

Presumably because it replaced two structures with multiple Civic addresses?

I'm guessing the building on the left was #101-103, and Ferguson's Auto Parts was #105...

Amazing how that could get through without any attention.

The councillors knew he had lied as did the planner because they were all there at the PIM when I challenged the words in his written application. Other Dartmouth politicians, federal and provincial, denied any contact with him when I queried them by email.
All his buildings seeem to be designed from one template.

That does make sense. Thanks Mark.

But it is one lot. On PVSC it is 101 and assessed at $6,084,000
Perhaps the two numbers refer to one number for the commercial component and the other number is the residential component.

You would know more about how that works than I do. Jstaleness had a valid question and I just had a guess based on what was there previously.

So is it usual to have separate civic numbers for commercial and residential, and not something like 101 unit 1, 101 unit 2... or 101A, 101B... etc.

I hadn't noticed the 2 numbers, I have walked past the building enough times in the past few weeks.
My comment was just a guess. I wonder if the two numbers were sent to emergency services for their opinions. Weird,eh ?
The rear of the building has plenty of plastic, it looks dark and awful.
In other news, the house at the old Plumbing Barn is coming along nicely, love those old wooden shingles.

It is nice to see that the house beside the Plumbing Barn is being restored. I spoke with the owner and he is looking at putting a couple of townhouses on the empty corner lot that he says will complement the old houses in the area.

The plumbing barn on the corner of Pine and Myrtle is gone?

I recall when I was a kid they used to keep horses there (would have been the early 1970s). I recall that it looked old even back then.

The Plumbing Barn, as a business is gone, but the building is still there; there is a plan to make that building rentals, put some townhouses on the corner, and the house on Pine Street next to the vacant lot is being renovated. I'm optimistic that they will do a good job.

Very interesting! Thanks for the info, I'll make a point to take a drive by sometime.

There is a bizarre wood look metal horizontal siding above the front entrance.
I don't see the point to this lotus. Does not inspire tranquility.

The worst we've seen in awhile. So disappointed with this as it could have been a landmark building.

It had potential, but just didn't work out so well.

I will be glad when the fad of putting as many different finishes as possible on the building is finally over... but then we will have to look at them for another 30 or 40 years...

The gym for residents is on the ground floor at the front of the building. Pedestrians will have the opportunity to enjoy the visual impact of sweaty bodies power walking on treadmills.

I'm sure the planners must have seen "gymnasium" on the submission and immediately approved it thinking it was street-level retail, their holy grail.

We must set our greatest minds to work on a solution to this problem of people seeing in through windows from outside!
