I wish we had someone to update these regularly...although I do go up there from time to time to visit family.

I had no idea this tower was actually getting built! First time I saw it was at the "Tall Buildings" exhibition in Copenhagen last summer (I guess this photo is taken there?), and by then it wasn't even approved I think. I really like this tower - its four "Turning Torsos" joined into one. Cool stuff.

Good thinking, making a Nanjing P&C thread, Fabb. It really deserves it considering the amount of tall towers (200-250m+) going up there.

Wow; Those are some very tall designs... Very futuristic... China is going to be the first country to have full blown "Futurama style" cities!!!

The design of the Nanjing Jinling Hotel phase II has been changed again. The new design, by P&T Group, will be released soon.

Nah, they're just showing us what it means to have so many Chinese people.

depends. We must remember that if they already had a per capita gdp of western Europe they would actually be growing at a slower rate than western Europe, if their current policies were the same.

The best comparision is trail blazing through the jungle. The first guy has to have a machete just to be able to move forward. The second guy and then third both have to use less force to cover the same amount of distance. This means that they can 1)either use less force to progress (Europe) or 2)they can use their force to catch up (China) to the leader (America) but in this real life scenario the machete is investment and even though the US and China have similar ratios of investment as % of gdp, China is able to get 3 times better use of its investment because of the "jungle factor".

Greenland Square Zifeng Tower

I took this last week. Because of the distance and the heavy fog, the quality is sort of shite, but you get the picture more or less (at the right & center):
