Good location for that height - right by the Galleria and the two condo towers. So people can't fight this one, right?

This is quite interesting - 12/13 floors of office space. They think they can fill that at that location?

No...half of the building is a parking garage I think only 5/6 stories office with 1 for the lobby and retail at the base.

The local office market here is on fire. I believe this development to prelease rather quickly while under construction. If this has taken 4 years to start to move, the developers also must think that it be a hot product once its built.

That's true! I've heard from many a brokers who have said that if a mid rise office went up in Old Town that it would fill up rather quickly. It's been hard to do the assemblage and provide for large floor plates down there.

I honestly felt sorry for the "NIMBY" attorney that has nearly had it from assholes at the Galleria trespassing around his property. What a nightmare that must be when he just wants a nice spot to office.

Papago Plaza moves forward with its 11-acre redevelopment plan

Did demo already occur? Construction of Papago Plaza is planned to start in August with completion slated for fall 2020.

I went by about 3 weeks ago and a good chunk was getting demo'd. I'm speculating they've probably demo'd it all by now.

I drive by here every morning. I see no visible signs of demolition other than a fence around the property. I'm sure Asbestos turned up in their survey and are doing some interior work to remove all of that before demoing.

Strange. I saw the entire South end at least half demo'd. Are we talking about the same place? I'll be a block away after work this evening. I'll scope it out.

You may be right and I hope you are. Granted I don't usually look too hard at that eyesore on my normal commute.

Yea, my bad. Nothing going on except interior demo. I don't know why I thought I saw some of the center torn down

Found it on a city-data post:

Also, there was a place called Bobby McGee's, but I can't remember where that was. We went ... The one in Scottsdale was on McDowell, in Papago Plaza.
For anybody who's curious this was back in the mid-70's.

Bishop Lane

New proposal out for a 199 unit, 8 story development in Oldtown Scottsdale at the corner of Bishop and 2nd Street. Solid height for this area!

Demolition has begun for this site in Scottsdale. Trucks are moving debris from the torn down building. Looks like this one is happening!
