well i avoided this thread as long as i could...!
reminds me a lot of the identical tacky southern beachy town crapatecture you see in other local resort places like around the redneck riviera of florida or myrtle beach or south padre island. garish but can be fun too, especially for teens and kids (can't really tell if there is a focus or enough for kids to do in branson?).
anyway these are definately types of places you might visit, but wouldnt want to live in. no offense to anyone that does
-- im sure you make a nice nut off the tourism! actually i kind of root for local color/homegrown places to thrive or at least survive vs the canned disneyland or unsustainable vegas types of tourist haunts. however, it seems to me that in this case branson needs to work a little harder hold on to it's local identity. for example, where's the branson in that new uber-generic live/shop lifestyle mall? dont loose your mojo branson!
