ive been by there a few times- huge reno inside - they basically dug down a whole floor and are putting a basement in and knocked out half the wall connecting the two buildings..

So much potential. If we can get this right, visitors to Hamilton will make a beeline to the Gore to take in that atmosphere. Let's go!

These buildings look interesting from behind. The one looks like it has an entirely new back, and the other beside it looks like a movie set.

It almost looks like a set piece they dirtied up those for post-apocalyptic films

they just painted the old windows and that design looks like it came out of the bargain stencil bin at michaels

meanwhile the masonry on that building is crumbling lmao

they did clean up the masonry as well, but yea, clearly done on a bit of a budget. I don't hate it and it's certainly a large improvement over before. I'll have to check it out one day this week and get a closer look in person first to really issue judgement though.

Pretty sure I remember seeing them replace the windows though so I do believe they are new windows.

To me the windows looked painted. The moveable windows look single pane, with the style of two sets of panes per side from the 70s and earlier. Still an improvement from a distance.

Cheaply done, but still better than what was there, so.. kinda striving for bare minimum for improvement.. still, I'll take it.. for now.

Good on the owners for showing initiative to spruce it up. Small budget but makes a difference.
