Suburban Communities: Proposed/Approved/Under Construction

Hamilton has a bunch of new suburban communities proposed, approved, and under construction. Instead of having a thread for each individual new suburb, all of the site plans and construction updates can be posted here.

Not sure if this street name on the Penny Lane plan is a joke or a spelling mistake?

I like that their symbol is a bus. I'm guessing the public transport is going to suck pretty hard up there.

Suburban tracts always have such ironic names.

Not great frequency, but that's true of the mountain in general. Penny Lane appears to be sandwiched between Stonechurch and Rymal lines, with connections to downtown Burlington via the Parkdale, which loops at "Meadowlands East." Not loads in the way of super-walkable amenities in the immediate vicinity, at least compared to downtown. PL is wedged between Saltfleet District HS and Satellite Golf, a five-minute bike-ride from the Elfrida LCBO/Beer Store and a 10-minute bike ride from generic fare like Silvercity, Indigo/Starbucks, Booster Juice, Kelsey's/Milestones, etc as well as sui generis entries like the Starlite Drive-in or the Eramosa Karst CA. I guess you could do worse.

'Weathering heights.'

That's what we're dealing with here - complete knobs.

Though, when I think of it, perhaps it's an apt name. After a decade those cardboard boxes will be well weathered.

Anyone know anything about the Losani Highland development (south of Highland Rd east of the new Red hill extension) that's in the pre-construction phase? Like start times, any problems or delays due to landscape features or anything else??

I don't know anything about that, but you could keep checking buzzbuzzhome.com. They keep all the developments in the area pretty up to date. I think the one you're talking about is on there (buzzbuzzhome.com/central-park), but there isn't any info yet.

Love the modern homes as part of an entire subdivision.

I drove up the Centennial Parkway mountain access today, for the first time in a couple of months, and I noticed another new subdivision under construction. I had a look and found the site plan...
