Are you fantasizing or do you know something that no one else does?

Installing some sort of access walkway / ring above the third level of the crown?

^^Looks like they are installing that at the dividing line between the mechanical screen and purely decorative crown. I assume it provides some sort of access to mechanical machinery or just a way to check on things. Could also be part of the anchoring of and access to window washing platforms (because I think all the glass is below that point and the decorative crown is metal).

A 50 ft 'spire' on a 1070 ft tower? Sounds more like a stub. IF there's a spire (which I'm doubting) I would hope they could do better than 50 ft. The spires on the Petronas Towers are 241 ft. What is your source for this?

This tower has had more erection talk and phallus fantasies than any other here. Maybe the bracing will hold a statue at the top like a contemporary version of Philadelphia City Hall. After all, we were told it will be a public art piece.

A statue of Marc Benioff, perhaps?

IMO the worst part of the building is the crown. The slits coming down the middle are just mind boggling...they tried as hard as possible to make this thing look like a dick. Let me guess, the art-light installation will have light shooting up the slits.

Would it be possible for them to remodel the crown after its finished? Just make it more rectangular and it would be fine. Maybe if they made the top look like the washington monument instead of a smoothe curvey mushroom shaped 'obelisk'.

You are just trolling now. I wonder what Sigmund Freud would say about your obsession?

95% of the planet either has a dick between their legs or wants a dick in between their legs. What's the big deal?

I swear I'm not trolling. I legitimately wish this tower even half as visually appealing as Oceanwide Center or 181 Fremont. Even if they went with a boring rectangular design, at least it wouldn't be borderline humiliating. I guarantee The Simpsons or the Family Guy or whatever TV comedy is hot at the time will roast SF for this building.

^^You've made your case long before now and it's just boring to keep hearing about it.

You should move on, especially because things are happening. Looks like they are really moving on crown construction now that the weather's decent:

I see this beauty from a distance every day from Marin but today got to drive right by the base. I think the simple design is simply beautiful and sleek- especially in person. We are so lucky to have this going up in our back yard!

And can confirm, the crown is now going up!
