Keep in mind we're running away with speculation here.... but I do wonder how much adding a spire would be?

I'm not really a fan of spires. It really has to be the right kind of building for it.

360: Good.

Fairmont: Meh.

Marriott Rivercenter: Good.

The O'Quinn Medical Tower at St. Luke's: Good

The top has to be right for them. Flat roofs just don't look good with them. And even if they were to add a crown to 6 X Guadalupe and add a spire to the top of that, I think it would distract from the slabby quality of the building it has now.

98 Red River might be a better candidate for a spire. Or possibly the Railyard Towers.

Yeah, those are good points for sure. I all but know for certain nothing will change for 6X, but even a somewhat different/slanty roof would add a little pop.

Oh, yeah. Originally, I was thinking that's what it would be. Those first elevations we saw of it - the ones that came before the renderings did, showed it with a slanted roof. That's the one that also had it with the X-bracing in the facade.

Nice. While riding my bike down Jones Road this afternoon in Sunset Valley near Burger Stadium, and I noticed the crane poking up for Block 185 in front of the Indeed Tower, which is kind of a bummer since that view was going to be a good one of the Indeed Tower. I expect Block 185 will completely block the view of it from that angle.

Here's the Google Streetview of that view when The Independent was under construction.
