RBC and Ritz Carlton will be starting at the same time. Construction begins on both this week.

possibly the best vantage point is from the end of the Leslie Street Spit (Tommy Thompson Park) but being 5 miles out into the lake from the derelict portlands, there isn't much else to do

I know exactly where that is, thanks. It's a public park, right?

Im confused, Everyone seems to be quoting the Ritz at 213m high and yet in the diagram we have it listed at 208m?? And Ritz has apparently started construction with RBC so why has the RBC status been changed to under construction but not the Ritz?

"Everyone seems to be quoting the Ritz at 213m high"

Like who?

Skyscraperpage - 208.4m
Urbantoronto - 684ft; 208.5m
Canuck's 400+ list - 684ft; 208.5m
Emporis - no height recorded
Ontario Municipal Board - 208.4m
often wrong Urbandb - 213m

"And Ritz has apparently started construction with RBC so why has the RBC status been changed to under construction but not the Ritz?"

nothing substantial so far to indicate 'construction' (well .. site prep but hey)has begun. And, I've also never noticed the wall of concrete barriers between the two sites before

thanx, i didnt mention that i meant everyone on skyscrapercity...but then thats like saying everyone on wikipedia..so reliable lol. They are also quoting BA as being 217...where do these numbers come from lol.

you could say the same for RBC could you not...i mean if they are starting at the same time..and site preping at the same time...then it only seems logical to change the status of both towers at the same time. thats my thinking anyway.

Neiloo: The planning report that surfaced before Bay-adelaide began construction indicated that it was 715 ft. or 218 metres. The height on skyscraperpage was a guesstimate based on the drawings in an older planning report. Emporis who took the information from the planning report also has the tower at 218 metres. Finally Ed007 found out the height when he went to the ceremony for the commencement of construction and he was given the height of 218 metres as well.

- zoning of 2.5 million sq ft for entire site
- up to 639,000 sq ft of residential
- west tower height limit of 715 ft
- east tower height limit of 590 ft
- 1,100 parking spots
- north tower height limit of 393 ft

Thanx TOBoy, i suppose we should be changing our diagram to the proper height then.

"i mean if they are starting at the same time"

the keyword being 'if'

I suspect they will go up together but that doesn't necessarily mean they both will start at the same time (as I already mentioned, it appears a concrete barrier has gone up between the property and the sales office is still open )

No, it's a drawing of the tower being built

the height of 214m (215m on the other side) is accurate however it is the top of the mechanical in which the western face extends past

Cadillac is responsible for both towers. Ritz is primarly a hotel, not a condo anyway. The sales office is likely going to be relocated. So lets see what happens next week.
