The new tallest we did actually get a couple of years back: Panorama Tower is a little underwhelming. Just a box with balconies. At least it is lit well at night:

IDK if Skyrise Miami can count as a new tallest, but thats u/c.

Panorama Tower hold the title of Miami's tallest, but we do have the 2nd tallest (if skyrise doesn't count) by the name of Aston Martin Tower. Possibly 830 Brickell but I've heard some conflicting figures which could place it below Aston Martin tower height wise.

Tallest tower in Sunny Isles, a proxy city to Miami, is Muse Residences. Right now, Estates at Aquilina (2 towers) are the two tallest rising at 649 ft, but Sunny Isles has a lot of towers 649 ft. Keep an eye out for 18401 Collins Avenue, could be the tallest if it comes to frution.

hopefully sherwin-williams new hq in cleveland, but i doubt it. they are too conservative a company. no one knows though, so there is a chance.

key tower is 947’ to the tip, so that is a pretty err, umm, tall order to beat.

Toronto, almost in response to this thread, had it's 4th supertall proposed yesterday.

1200 Bay Street. 324m or 1,063ft. Herzog & de Meuron designed, with a Dutch developer.

This is a block to the west of The One, the current new Tallest U/C.

It is however not the tallest proposed building. Mirvish-Gehry is the tallest building currently proposed, at 329m / 1079ft. It will really stand out too as it is in a part of town that currently only has buildings less than half that height (most buildings aren't taller than 157m).

Potential future second tallest building in Philadelphia has been proposed for a couple of years as a part of Schuylkill Yards development around 30th Street Station. 3101 Market could rise s tall as 1,095 feet tall:

Wilmington has had a 510-foot tower proposed for maybe the last 5 years. I'll believe it when I see the parking lot that it is supposed to go on get broken and dug up. I don't know if there is a rendering available.

Is that a spire in the Comcast Technology Center or is that where the company CEO has an office and glowers over his evil empire?

Bit of shame that this proposal ignores the waterfront completely.

Vancouver's tallest buildings have migrated to the suburbs. Both the tallest u/c and proposed are in the suburb of Burnaby.

U/C
2 Gilmore Place
64flrs /215.8m /708ft

Proposed
Pinnacle International
82flrs /243m(?) /800ft(?)

I love Philly, but Comcast Tech Center is hideous. Quite possibly the ugliest "tallest" out of the top 20 largest MSA skylines. It's one of several towers (including Cira Centre, which looks like something you'd find in Dallas, Houston or Atlanta) that have popped up in Philly in recent years that look completely out of place.

Philly's skyline had so much more style and character before all the uninspired, tacky glass stuff popped up.

I agree that Philly's skyline was superior when the ugly Comcast boxes didn't exist.

LA has the 333 S. Figueroa proposal that will be over 1100 feet, taller than the recently completed Korean Air building.

I know it's a really asinine nitpick, but Wilshire Grand's spire is cheating. The only angle I've seen where it remotely looks like LA's tallest is, I think, the view to the east from MacArthur Park. All other pictures of the skyline from different view points, it looks like the Library Tower is still the tallest.

A lot of tall buildings being built or proposed nowadays don't have the soul of the ones from the 1930s or 1980s. They are big, but they don't stand out as landmarks. They are just kind of awkward.

I bet if you had a classroom full of elementary school kids draw a picture of their city, lots of them would be able to doodle a picture of the Willis Tower if they were from Chicago, or the BoA tower in Houston. None of them would draw the ugly square condo towers that are going up now.

In Edmonton, Stantec tower (251m) was completed last year making it Edmonton's new tallest.

Work on the tower Alldritt Tower proposal (280m) is still going ahead, they are keeping the height but widening the tower to prevent it from swaying in the wind.

This is a massing of what could be the latest design for the tower.

My post was more about the 333 S. Figueroa proposal, which will be taller than the Library Tower as well.
I never actually said Korean Air was the tallest.
