I love my city, Los Angeles California

Like everywhere else, Covid-19 has effected Los Angeles. The ever growing homeless population is out of control. I'm being positive though. We'll all get through this. I still go around the city with my camera. It's actually so nice now because it's not so crowded around town. Traffic is also lighter but I do see it getting worse each week. Anyway, here's LA.

^ That's a fantastic spot... definitely off the tourist trail. That's Point Vicente lighthouse, located down on Palos Verdes peninsula. There's a whale watching station down there where people can hang out. The land you see in the distance is actually an island, Catalina Island.

^ Nice shot from Kenneth Hahn! I like that you included some foreground from the MLK memorial. The topography of LA is such an intrinsic part of its character, and winter accentuates that topography.

I agree! And I love the way the light falls in winter in LA; it really does accentuate the topography with the long shadows. Yet people who move here from other parts of the US say LA doesn't have seasons. Subtlety and nuance are lost on them; things have to be blatantly obvious and spelled out for them, I guess.

I love LA's skyline. For me, because it is devoid of an oversaturation of cookie-cutter condo towers, it still retains a lot of character. I feel like that is lost with some cities.

It’s a cool city. Such a shame your politicians suck and can’t seem to resolve the tremendous homeless crisis you guys have. They better figure something out before the Olympics. Seeing all the trash and homeless is shameful and an embarrassment for the city and for the state. Let’s remember California is the 5th largest economy in the world. Smh.

I recall you did a set of pics of south pasadena several months ago & because you did mainly wide angle shots, it gave a sense of a viewer actually being there. That's why pwright's photos are always among the best to me. He shows mainly a broad visual field of what a person would see if he were in the same location.

close ups of ppl, bldgs, food or things like that could be of any city or any town...even any country....so they don't give a viewer as good a sense of a specific city or community.

But everyone has a different set of points & interests in determining what they prefer or want to most focus on.
