It's absolutely staging. They will start the next tower when they no longer need that space to expedite the current projects and no sooner...

Right, that could be within the next year though hopefully. Cirrus & Cascade will be done before we know it.

This is assuming that starting the big one right after is still the plan...

I can just hear Tom Kerwin saying "Nick, I really want this vantage ... but make sure you make One Bennett Park look stumpy and inconsequential."

Thankfully, the close proximity to Cascade and a wide-angle makes that an easy request to accomplish

There's A LOT of in-camera & post-processing perspective work going on here.

First, I shot it with my tilt-shift lens panned up. I can rotate the front element of the lens 45° then shift. In effect, I can move the lens in an "X" pattern without having to actually move the camera, so the stitch is seamless. Then, of course, I had to digitally perspective control the panorama to get nice and straight vertical lines.

I knew that these towers would be beautiful but they are BEAUUUTIFUL. Befitting of the lakefront and bodes well for Parcel I!

Agree, and that copper is . Site I is one of my favorite designs of this cycle, hoping it gets built like the renders.

Yeah, assuming Site I is built, it'll hide Cascade quite a bit, blocking some of the views. Might as well build the taller one with unobstructed views too ommand more cash. At least from inside LSE, you make be able to see them sort of spiral/stack-up from short to tall.

Yes! Really digging the copper. Need to time my next visit to get more light onto the S/W sided of Cascade, but then you don't get that nice AM sun on the East facade. Good problem to have I guess.

Unfortunately, these two little filler turds would fit better in Greek town along the Kennedy Expy instead of such a prominent location.

Gloomy Chicago 10-26-20 (69) by BartShore, on Flickr

Quick question on a side note, but what are they doing to the South of the Chicago Spire hole? Past the overhead highway closest to the water?

An environmentally remediated DuSable Park which should be completed when 400 N Lakeshore goes up. Also the notorious Lakefront trail project (along LSD)

EDIT: DuSable Park is east of the hole. But I think what you're referring to the Lakefront trail project which is south-east.

Thanks Fvn.

Hopefully they can finish it soon. Such an eyesore. And finally remove that hole in the ground too.

The square area is DuSable park - the white windy strip is the new bikeway - the latest section is the gray part along the closer side of the bridge.

Seems odd to spend money on a "temporary" park? Maybe a sign that site I isn't happening in the next ten years?

This is not Site I - it's on the SW side of the site. My bet is on Site I will break ground next year.
