CALGARY | Arriva 42 | 535 FT / 163 M | 44 FLOORS | ON HOLD

This is a Condominium tower in Calgary named Arriva 42, originally because it was to have 42 floors. Since then two floors have been added for a total of 44 floors.

Arriva 42 is part of a three tower complex with the first tower, Arriva I (tower on right hand side) already topped off. The tower on the left hand side of the picture is the one u/c

Does anyone have an up-to-date pic of the first tower to give an idea of how the second tower may shape up in terms of materials used?

I like the design better on the second tower. Hopefully this starts a trend for taller residential projects with designs that continue to get better. I think this is a good start for the biggies.

Here is a picture of the first tower from this summer. It gives a good perspective of how the second tower will look. Just add 10 more floors for the second tower.

Another slight change just posted over in the Calgary thread, lets hope that it doesn't affect the height though.

I love this project and think it has great implications for future residential projects in the city!

Man I give up trying to name this tower. If they were going to change the # of floors so often they should have just called it the Arriva tower.

That might be the best bet. Or simply call it Arriva II.

I've spoken with the developer John Torode quite a bit on this project, they are staying with the branding of calling it 'arriVa 42'. However the 43 floors instead of the 44 shouldn't affect the height as it may just be a floor count issue, they are now including 2 story loft units on the podium section. So they may just be counted as 1 floor in the stories count, not the actual construction count.

Keep in mind this is similar to the first tower arriVa 34, which is actually 36 stories in total. But has only 34 stories of residential units, it lacks a 3rd and 13th floor in the listing on the elevators.

I'll supply more photos of this one coming up from my vantage in the first tower as construction continues!

Updated renders

The render that Surreal has is the older one, these newer renders were released a while back and although they may not be the most up to date they show tower 2 & 3 at the 44 stories.

I was quite surprised to find out the name of my building is also a public transport company in Europe!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arriva

I found it out a couple of years ago at my airport hotel in Frankfurt, as I saw an 'Arriva' bus go by.

I changed the headline to read 43 floors. Is 43 floors still the plan as far as you know Bigtime?

Of all the projects in Calgary, this is one of the ones that I'm anticipating the most. Outside of the Bow, this tower will have the biggest effect on the look of Calgary's skyline IMO.

other than the podium (a whole other topic for Edmonton and Calgary) i quite like this project...although im not a fan of the arrangement of the towers on the site.
