Thanks for the update! I haven't seen much attention for this project, even though it seems to have been steadily rising.

I ride my bike past Market Place twice a day, but I don't have the luxury of really noticing it. Solid infill.

Crane - Salesforce

05/29/2016 - As of today I am able to see a large portion of one of 2 cranes on the Salesforce building from my apartment in the Civic Center. 181 Fremont is visible on the right.

I've always been able to see the south crane for the Salesforce Tower and, due to our different angles, the north one has now popped above the St. Regis. I'm fortunate to have a dead on view of 181 Fremont almost to the ground, so it has been interesting to watch it rise. I can see a sliver of Salesforce Tower next to the south crain almost to the bottom too, but it will have to rise above the St. Regis in order to see the whole thing (after which I will only be able to see the far north side of the Millennium Tower). As you know Jerry, it has been a constantly changing show over the years as layers of buildings have been constructed.

in Dogpatch, the project at Third and 23rd is now rising at what seems like a quicker clip. this is it as seen from what they are calling 'Angel Alley', to the northwest. (not sure Angel Alley is an official name; the Hell's Angels house lines it prominently.)

and the side most people will see, from Third St

looks like finally some activity at Pier 70, maybe:

the finale of Potrero1010's accoutrements is starting to form: its open space. here looking through to the east, with Seventh, the freeway, and Kaiser in the distance, and a little geometric seating feature in the foreground:

slightly different angle showing some of the landscaping around the little island building:

the evolving sidewalk along 16th St and the island building:

and splitting the difference:

looking back the other way from Seventh:

still working on the Seventh St side. looking north

350 Eight Street Apartments

This apartment complex takes up the whole block. It is bordered by 8th, Harrison, Ringold & Gordon Streets. The building at Gordon & Harrison Streets is quite different from the rest of the complex. I find it to be quite dramatic & pleasing to my eye. It is curios that the glass has white dots - decorative or functional?

Harrison & Gordon Streets

Can anyone say what purpose the white dots serve on the glass?

It's called frit. Could be just a design feature but more likely used to address UV performance or other practical issues.

or it could be for the birds, i.e., helping them not crash into it

cv94117, pseudolus - thanks for the info. Maybe the dots work for both. I've seen a bird kill itself by flying into a glass window.

Here's a new 250 foot proposal at Van Ness and Mission. Really excited to see this area ("The Hub") developed - long overdue.

Quote:
Gould Evans, on behalf of Align Real Estate, has just submitted the official application to San Francisco’s Planning Department for a 250-foot tower and adjacent 85-foot podium building to rise at 30 Otis Street, at the intersection of Otis, South Van Ness Avenue and 12th Street.

815 Tennessee Street

https://www.buzzbuzzhome.com/815-ten..._rendering.jpg

DM Development recently told BuzzBuzzHome that construction will be starting in the next couple of weeks (June 2016) at 815 Tennessee Street for their 5-storey 69 unit residential building.

aha, thanks buzzbuzzsteph! after the demo a couple months ago, I hadn't seen anything else happening there and had started to wonder about this one.
