Comparing the scale of 270 Park Avenue with the new 415 Madison Avenue...(the renderings aren't accurate design, but an approximation of the basic design)

No wonder the price of steel is skyrocketing; it’s all being sucked up by this building!

Again, like I said earlier, this skyscraper is now the rival of 111 W 57.
111 W 57 = 1,421 ft vs 270 Park Avenue = 1,425 ft

When do we think they will erect a tower crane at this site? Could a tower crane even lift the heavier steel components they’ve been hauling in on huge suspended trailers (or whatever those are called)?

I don't know the phasing, but I'm sure when there will be multiple cranes for this tower.

They won’t need to worry about the super heavy steel nodes after the platform is built. That’s why the crawler cranes are there now. Tower Cranes will show up when it’s time to go vertical with standard I-beams and such.

It's absolutely wild to see the sort of engineering and sheer magnitude of the materials used to make buildings like this possible! Just imagining walking out of Grand Central and seeing towering behemoths looming over everything makes me excited for what's to come!!

JP Morgan Chase was supposed to turn over the rebuilt portion of the new LIRR concourse sometimes this month, and supposedly that's complete.

A look at some of the construction of that concourse and mezzanine levels...
