I am seriously thinking of moving to Austin by myself by the end of the year now and I want to be in an area where I can have a nice view of Austin's skyline. I was hoping you guys can point me to the right direction since you are more aware of the new development in the surrounding area. I'm looking to mainly be 25-30 minutes away from downtown and being close to the Colorado River or a nice park would be a huge plus for me but not required.

So far, most of the 1 bedroom places that have are "modern" are ~1300-1500/month. Does that sound about right to you guys?

Thanks in advance and I'm sorry this is off topic. Once I move here, you guys will have another photo person of your development!
If you are willing to be 25-30 mins out, you can make that work money wise. But please consider where you will work or go to school. Commute can be a pain.

5/9 Edit:

After doing some research, The Domain is looking like a good option for me. I'll keep you guys posted in this post if you're interested.
I live by the Domain and really like it; you won't have skyline views but there's some nice greenbelts up here and good amenities.

You haven't mentioned where you will work, so here's a solid tip: Austin is a very north and south city so if you work north of the Colorado River (aka Towne Lake aka Lady Bird Lake)/Downtown you'll definitely want to live north of it.

I have no idea which Domain tower that is since they all look the same to me, but it looks to be nearly topped out in your photo there. Working on the 18th floor.

I love that Austin is now at a point where buildings of this scale are considered "infill", rather than particularly significant.

If this gets glazing like One Manhattan Place, it will be an instant classic.

Here's an updated version of the last rendering posted - no canopy on upper cutout and vertical lighting goes all the way up.

So, so bizarre. Get it together, San Antonio!
This is SSP so please remember that there are folks that consider this a good thing.

The downside is if San Antonio is growing like Austin (is it?) then no additional density downtown means spraaaaawl.

Sorry if this should be on the SA page but it was mentioned here.

^^^Equating a city's (or metro's) size to the amount of central business district skyscraper development is quite an elementary way of thinking. It simply does not work that way in every case.
