Depending on the perspective this tower either looks fairly short or very tall.

That is THE final floor. From this most recently-poured floorplate, the tapered mansard roof will begin and stretch upward another ~3 stories to meet up with the top of the core.

With Lowenberg buildings literally all over the place (sometimes three per shot), I can definitely say that the Elysian is an improvement for the area.

"Improvement" in this area is moving an inch when its still a mile before we enter the land of acceptability.

Yes, obviously that's what I meant. I haven't retracted anything I've said about this building nor do I expect to.

its fine. I just find the distinction so hopelessly minuscule that I feel terming this project is an "improvement" implies too great a magnitude of change. Elysian isn't hurting the area, but its not moving it up from what is pretty close to rock bottom.

well maybe next time there's a proposal in the area, you can attend one of the community meetings to voice your opinion just a thougnt.

This I will take to task. As much as I dislike what LaGrange is doing, there is just no comparison between this and a Loewenberg dump. At least LaGrange is giving it his best effort, no matter how misguided. The other party... well, I think they were just plundering the city for whatever it's worth.

It is a thought and a great one. I've loved over these past years learning from you guys learning about development and community activism. However, I can't take of work early to drive back to Chicago to "convince" aldermen that me, the non-resident, wants whats best for their ward lol.

However, I'm hoping come August if I return to Chicago, I can start attending these meetings and lean the tricks from you guys.

You seriously lump those together with the various Lowenburg piles?
