hkskyline's 2013 in TAIPEI

Taipei is an annual trip these days, and I'm quite familiar with the city and what to see already. Xinyi is Taipei's new downtown, with plenty of new buildings and malls.



The other land plots in the district have filled up nicely.

















Shilin Night Market has somewhat been revitalized with a new building of food stalls downstairs.





























I took a ride on a new subway line towards the Danshui River for a view of the skyline set against water.











Dihua Street is a traditional foods market that is popular with locals during the weeks leading up to Chinese New Year.









































































As you can see, food features high on my Taipei agenda.

What's with the weather?? I though Tapei was a pretty warm spot, all year round and we see all those winter coats...?? That wasn't in August, was it?

Watched a neat documentary the other day on Taiwanese cuisine around the island, made me want to go there immediately.

Took these in January and you need a winter coat!
