Moscow from 56th floor of West FederationTower

Thank to Mirax group some over 20 SSC forumers were able to visit 56th floor of this under construction tower.

Here is some shots taken by me.

6. Naberezhnaya Tower. The core of the tallest building in Europe has reached its tip.


7. View on Mirax Plaza. Works on foundation slab of lower tower (167m 42fl).

9. We don't know the final height yet. Possibly 268,4m. The core reached 61 levels. As we know there are going to be two more steel levels above of the core. Anyway, it's already tallest in Europe.


10. View towards of southwest. Lower tower of House on Mosfil'movskaya complex is in front. Taller tower is going to be 203 meters tall. Few its floors are visible just at the side of photo.

awesome thread. These russian skyscrapers are magnific. But Moscow from the air looks so UNdense! I guess its just an impression.

but please, next time host the photos on a site like photobucket or imageshack. This server is VERY SLOW.

Amazing pics. This must have been a treat. I love the towers, but I don't really like the Pudong or Dubai-like context.

I really have to check out Moscow. I live in a heavily Russian neighborhood in NYC, which whets my appetite for the real thing.

yes, density of modern districts very low. mostly complex construction.

as of server - it's fast and located in m10 datacenter, which is connected to m9.
just you can't loading all shots at once. they loading sequentially. there is a limit for sessions per ip.

Trantor, the city center is very dense, it is all built and there is very little free space, check a panorama of the center by Brad here

outside the historic center, dense apartment complex neighbourhoods are interspersed by parks and industrila zones, so they certainly look less dense than the center

but the local population density in those districts is very high since there practiclally no single family houses - they are all highrises - 5, 9, 14, 25 stories and up

so, if you zoom in a particular direction, it can look very dense, even outside the city center, like in these pics by Aleksey (from SCC)

Moscow is an incredible city and so are these photos. The vast expansion of the conurbation is rivaled by few. Moscow looks as though it has a lot of park space (any central parkesque parks in the city?). Great set, you're lucky to be one of the first people on top of the tallest building in Europe - do you know if there will be an observatory eventually? Thanks.
