Nice snaps, flar. Digby looks like a pretty nice seaside town.

Is it just me or is NS the biggest rip off when it comes to lobster? Traveling through the province, I was shocked to see what they were selling them for. A typical lobster dinner was $21.99+, even at the little hole-in-the-walls. This was in 1999, so I can only imagine what they are hocking them for now. Strange, considering lobster is in abundance in Atlantic Canada.

Just to put how ridiculous the prices are in NS in to perspective, there is a restaurant in Shanghai that imports lobster from Atlantic Canada, and is selling a bug for about $15 a plate.

Sorry for the rant.

Again, great shots.

Excellent photos. Digby looks like a nice mix of working port and upscale summer getaway.

Those are "lobster dinners" for tourists. When I was back in August the best price I saw was a guy selling them out of the back of a truck for $6 each.

Live lobster was about $5-$7 per pound in some of the fish markets. The first fresh fish I got on the trip (in New Brunswick) was haddock, which I was surprised to see was actually a buck more per pound than lobster. Of course, we tried the scallops in Digby. Our motel room had a kitchen so we fried them up in butter, the Digby scallops were quite large, sweet and extremely tasty

Flar: You've shown Peggy's Cove and Digby -- what happened to Mahone Bay and Lunenburg?

Nice pictures. Digby is on the Bay of Fundy, correct? I assume it has those 26 foot shifts in tide.

Digby is closer to the mouth of the Bay of Fundy, it looks like the tide difference is over 20 feet. Further into the Bay, the difference is over 50 feet in some places.

This is close to low tide, you can see how low the water is on the docks.

Unfortunately I didn't get any good shots showing the difference between high and low tide.

Lunenburg was on my radar, but we didn't make it there

Either Stephen King, or someone wanting to revive Cabot Cove, ME, for Murder She Wrote!

He was a town councilor when I was there. BTW, Digby was full of Outhouses, not so many lawyers.
