Went to 100% of all out-of-town relative airport pickups— all the way to the gate every time. Sometimes my Dad would take me 30 minutes early just to watch planes. Sometimes we went just to watch planes, honestly.
So it's sad to see it go, even if it's for a greater good. The new airport is a wonderful place for Utah to have.

My dad would take us out just to watch planes too.
That was the 60's before the freeway, so you took North Temple straight out, and there was an industrial building with the front end of a smaller plane attached above their front door. Right around, say, 22nd west. Us kids always tripped on that.
There was just the one main terminal with 2, maybe 3 concourses.
Western Airlines was the main carrier. United had most the rest .
