Its quite impressive. Its cool seeing the dump trucks line up 6:30 in the morning.

The amount of construction going on in this city right now from 1-95, Canal St/Sugar House, 1900Arch/CITC, to EVO/FMC, to UCITY is mind blowing.

To think of the projects that are approved and ready to go as well as whats going on is awesome. Next fall should really be the height of construction when CITC, FMC, The W, and SLS start rising simultaneously.

I really can't remember when the peak year was pre-recession for simultaneous hi-rise construction, but it was probably between 2005-2007. I'm thinking at most there may have been 3-4 buildings going up at the same time when the market was at its best. There are now 3-4 going up in UCity alone and by next year there should be at least that many in CC going up at the same time along with FMC and the CHOP building.

Were getting closer! Maybe another half month I think. Saw them work a few hours this morning before the labor day weekend. Thanks Londonee!

^ Now we know why the zoo balloon is being retired. hmm..

And I'm not sure but it looks like I see a caisson cover, and you can see one in one of the pictures above as well.

Edit: And now one of those drill vehicles picked it up and is drilling it maybe?

I don't see any evidence of caisson installation yet. These are also pile drivers, not drilling rigs - which look similar but are in fact different.

I would assume more of the foundation needs to be excavated before we see caisson installation. Are caissons even being used on this development?

I saw a hollow rusty cylinder that a pile driver was picking up earlier, but where that went I have no clue. I do believe the southern side is at the lowest I think.

So those hollow tubes, I see pile drivers drilling them into the ground at the top part of the site. What is the purpose of that if anyone knows, just curious.

Honestly I have no idea lol. It's not for caissons however. I'm thinking they may be using them to break up rock and stuff in the ground? Not entirely sure really.

They're secretly removing the spaceships buried there by ancient aliens. But you didn't hear that from me.
