And yes, lots of activity, drilling, steel beams on site, it's getting loud down there!
It could be a measure for dust control during excavation.

So at this point I guess no ground breaking ceremony. I'll take it!

It's Official! CITC Breaks Ground

Quote:
You'll always remember what you were doing when Germany beat Brazil. (Unless you're a Brazil fan and you're trying to purge it from memory.) And now you'll remember what you were up to when the Comcast Innovation & Technology Center broke ground. Liberty Property Trust announced this week that Comcast's second tower is officially under way. While it won't open until early 2018, it'll bring a lot with it: 1.3M SF of office space—74% of it occupied by Comcast—and a 222-room Four Seasons Hotel. Liberty says it's investing $185M in the nearly billion-dollar project, which also includes $40M in public grants for infrastructure improvements.

Comcast I Groundbreaking Ceremony

Grainy phone pics from the groundbreaking ceremony for Comcast I (March 31, 2005, 6:24PM). I had a pretty good view of the site at the time. They had done some digging before the ceremony. You can see the tent with purple lights and they had green floods surrounding the building site. The day pics are from Aug. 13, 2005, 5 months later.

Thanks for posting these pics. A real treat since I wasn't around during the groundbreaking for it. You can see in one of the pics the lot where CITC will be built. A real nice perspective on past and future developments.

Yes. Test boring and excavators have dug up some of the surface parking lot.

Great vantage point

You have a great view Londonee. As this project continues you may have to ask to be relocated to a higher floor in order to keep us posted.

Yeah, but he's all right where he is for now. We'll let him know when he has to move up.

The digging is getting serious, about half the property is 3 ft. deep.
