A reasonably accurate reproduction of an 18th century, New England, Garrison colonial farmhouse, most often found in suburbs throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut as well as other NE states.

^well, thread talks about AMAZING HOMEs. This is a quite very normal one farm house spread all over the world, pretty too common and imo nothing amazing at all. If it is for you, everyone has own tastes. But this is very far to be fantastic, which the thread suggests to be.

Can't find any interior shots, but this relatively new (2006) modernist home in the otherwise historic neighborhood of Moores River Drive here in Lansing is interesting. It is designed and lived in by a local architect. I believe it has an elevator. Because of how the lot was shaped, it was hard to get the garage in the back, which is really my only huge critique of the site plan.

I was just trying for somthing a little different. Most of the houses in this thread seem to be very modern and they all look exactly the same. The house I posted is actually rather unique in that it is unusal to find such a pure and accurate historic reproduction in this day and age with out any extra porchs or gables or victorian turrets added on to jazz it up.

^ amazing house, seems a small building in some way with those square windows spread, in which i would put vertical ones, closing together. The bridge is interesting, mainly if instead grey would be white shinning painted, but i would attach a big garage lower it, with a ramp, closing this hole space with a way at grass making 3 garages lots. Upper 2 for normal cars and the 1 lower the bridge for an oldtimer with direct entrance to the building attached side-by-side, mainly in winter times. Here i did not paid attention to the clearance of some 3m, but an aprox. drawing only. Ramp should be deeper some 50cm at garage location. Any way just to show.... But the house is the style i love.

looks cool but I guess he'd have to make sure the doors & skylights line up if he only wanted it open partway. otherwise he might not have a way in or out

Agreed. I do wonder about whether or not there would be any environmental or health risks created by living on a former industrial site though?
