Love this pic. Like a scene from a silent film.

Sorry I was asking Chad not you, Chad is much more polite then you, Chad also doesn't troll me from thread to thread. Really, LOL, it's too funny. You called me a troll over in another thread where I only commented on ONE of your posts and you called me a troll. Then you went to at least 2 other threads and left 2 angry posts quoting me. You do know what a troll is right? Me thinks not.

Hey Martin, no need for you to click a link here, I provided the details of this picture taken right around the time Toronto surpassed Montreal in size. Also in the picture is the current construction site for 160 Front Street at 240m which will be the 9th tallest building in Canada when complete.

A busy day in Metro for Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau yesterday ended with his speech last night suggesting Canada is superior to the United States.

How could what Martin said be considered trolling? He gave you a suggestion on what you can do to answer your question. I guess if you guys have a history of him being a dick to you then it is a different scenario that I don't know much about. Anyways though, that's why the links are provided. The years vary by the image, and the date is inconsequential in my eyes, as either way, they're old.

Chad, he knows why, it's from another thread (the skyline thread). I made a comment he didn't like. I backed up what I said not even to him and he called me a troll. LOL for no reason. Then he literally went into other threads and trolled all of my comments, the irony was too much for me to let it slide. I'll PM you if you want to no more. No need to drag it out here for any longer. I was only curious of of a decade really or time period without having to go to each link. I liked the term yesteryear.

Bit of a long video, but if you've got 40 minutes to kill it wouldn't be a bad way to spend them watching these fascinating slices of life from early-60s Montreal:

Here's the HMCS Magnificent in Halifax Harbour in 1954.

Canada had aircraft carriers from around 1945-1970. Canada took over some of the UK's aircraft carriers when the war was over. First the HMCS Powerful, then the Magnificent, then the Bonaventure. The Bonaventure was decommissioned in 1970.

*sigh* I really wish we had went through with the purchase of the two Mistral-class helicopter carriers after the French cancelled their deal with Russia. Our Navy is woefully inadequate for a country with three large oceanic coasts. Australia's is nearly swoon worthy by comparison, with 12 million less people in the country.
