Very cool Kitchener shot. I honestly thought it was Halifax at first.

Moving on up. It wasn't long ago that the KW skyline was the butt of a lot of jokes here on SSP. I recall when the tallest, or one of the tallest, was that building with the tits on top. It has made giant strides over the past decade.

Kelowna's lookin' good.

Agree. Some of the second tier cities are lookin' to join the big boys.

I agree and Rimouski looks beautiful, possibly the most interesting of this bunch for pedestrians?

Part of the problem with the Kitchener skyline, besides other aspects of the built geography of Waterloo Region, is that most of the tall buildings have been built in lower parts of the city and surrounded by hills. It means that there are few good vantage points for the downtown area.

DTK (the tallest building under construction on the right) besides being the new tallest building in the region, is also built at a higher point than the rest of the downtown, and the difference in visibility is astonishing, you can see it from all over the region where the rest of downtown remains pretty much invisible.

There are a bunch of other new buildings under construction or planned that are similar in height to DTK, or taller, and one significant project, Station Park, is also at a higher point that will make it much more prominent, so it will be interesting to see how the skyline evolves over the next few years.

Yeah, London's downtown also sits in a bowl, and there are very few places to get a decent skyline shot (especially since it is spread out with lots of holes)

Nice, Kelowna will soon be known not just for its orchards, lake, mountains, and skiing, but also for its modern skyline.

Yes London, like Kitchener doesn't have the best skyline because there aren't many vantage points where you can see it. Despite that, London's downtown has more skyscrapers than any other metro in the country with less than 3/4 of a million.

The best spot to get a shot of the london skyline that I have found is at the corner of Fanshawe park and Clark

Especially from a truck where you can see over the roadside weeds lol. Another decent spot is the park at the SW corner of Wharncliffe and Commissioners. There's also a park on Ironwood Ave in the very west end of Byron (in the newer Wickerson subdivision) with a good panorama. I should dig out my real camera and go take some shots.

sometimes you can get a good angle on Sarnia over the railway overpass, a few hundred metres west of Wonderland Rd. Brescia Hill is another good spot, as are the upper floors of Weldon Library and Social Science Centre (the last two at UWO).

Yes, I forgot about Sarnia Road, excellent location. That's actually where I watched the Remembrance Day flyover a couple years ago.
