An article from the Ithaca Voice about the 2018 Planning Report summary. Overall decent news for development in Ithaca. However, the last bit of info (in item #5) has me quite surprised and looking forward to more specifics in the middle of March.

Three articles from the Ithaca Voice.

First is a review of the temporary intercity bus depot:

https://ithacavoice.com/2019/02/city...er-pedc-notes/

Second is an article (actually mentioned in the first one above) about the Immaculat Conception school site (including possible renderings)

https://ithacavoice.com/2019/02/phot...on-site-plans/

Finally a possibility the Seneca Street garage could be developed the way as the Green Street garage.

https://ithacavoice.com/2019/02/gree...seneca-garage/

Lots of stuff going on in this little city.

Article from the Ithaca Times ref: development in the West End of the city. Though there is plenty of interest for new projects, there are issues which require increased construction costs, and concern about financial viability.

https://www.ithaca.com/news/ithaca/w...412b8914c.html

On a different note, here's info from Rev (local business startup) regarding 2018:

Some construction updates from the Ithacating blog. This post will cover some of the suburban projects.

Several updates from the Lansing area;

First up is the start of Milton Meadows, an affordable housing development in Lansing Town Center.

https://ithacating.com/2019/02/24/mi...update-2-2019/

Next is East Point Apartments, townhouse strings in several buildings with monthly rent prices shown.

https://ithacating.com/2019/03/01/ea...update-2-2019/

Finally Village Solar Apartments, 18 buildings totaling over 300 units located near the airport, and environmentally friendly.

https://ithacating.com/2019/03/03/vi...update-2-2019/

In the Town of Dryden the 802 Dryden Road project Ivy Ridge Townhomes is coming along. It's geared toward Cornell students.

https://ithacating.com/2019/02/28/80...update-2-2019/

Next up will be some housing projects in the city itself.

From the Ithacating blog some housing construction in the city of Ithaca.

First is an upscale senior living facility in Cornell Heights:

https://ithacating.com/2019/02/26/10...update-2-2019/

Next is the end of a dead end street getting denser in Fall Creek neighborhood.

https://ithacating.com/2019/02/26/12...update-2-2019/

A project that had some obstacles and changes is finally underway on Inlet Island. There's 8 townhouse style buildings with 2 separate rental units in each.

https://ithacating.com/2019/02/25/32...update-2-2019/

Finally, After years of all kinds of obstacles, Library Place has started. It's a senior living building in the DeWitt Park historical district. The developers have more patience than I would have shown.

From the Ithacating blog, a few commercial construction updates:

First the Green Star Co-op market. Some interesting back story here.

https://ithacating.com/2019/03/02/gr...update-2-2019/

Next is the Tompkins Cortland Community College childcare center in Dryden.

https://ithacating.com/2019/03/01/tc...update-2-2019/

Lastly the Cayuga Medical Associates building at Community Corners in Cayuga Heights (the wealthiest suburb of Ithaca). There is a link in the last paragraph to a potential proposal for an expansion of the Community Corners area, which is the commercial hub of Cayuga Heights.

https://ithacating.com/2019/02/27/ca...update-2-2019/

Interesting and informative entry from the Ithacating blog regarding the airport expansion in Ithaca. Kind of long, but a few great links to more information (especially in the 3rd paragraph). Lots of pics and renderings too.

looks like the Ithaca boom is extending all the way to Boise.

the Visum Development Group just submitted and application for an 8-story mixed use development in downtown Boise.

wonder if they've been lurking on this forum...

wonder how an Ithaca company decided to expand to a town 2300 miles away?

Not sure, but Boise has been on their radar for at least one year. Check out the summary for item #2 in the link below:

A couple of construction updates from the Ithacating blog.

First the Hilton Canopy Hotel downtown:

https://ithacating.com/2019/03/21/hi...update-3-2019/

Second is a residential project in Collegetown. Please check out the second set of comments after the first picture about a "mega" project. It has me hopeful, but also worried that it may fall by the wayside as so many previous proposals have done.

Two more construction updates from Ithacating.

First is residential in Collegetown, 238 Linden Ave:

https://ithacating.com/2019/03/22/23...update-3-2019/

Next is the renovation of the old Masonic Temple downtown, I have a feeling once complete (whenever that might be) the location should make it attractive for retail tennants.:

An Ithaca Voice article hi-lighting some of the activity about downtown construction projects:

https://ithacavoice.com/2019/03/see-...wntown-ithaca/

A couple of these have had individual blog entries in earlier posts this month (Ithacating), but I'm posting links to some of the others, and there's plenty more pictures in the blog entries.

A couple of entries from the Ithacating blog.

The first one includes a summary of the high (and low) lights from a recent planning board meeting and also a couple of items of current projects:

https://ithacating.com/2019/03/31/news-tidbits-3-30-19/

The next entry deals with some suburban projects, the seeming death of a suburban mall, a proposed major project in the city biting the dust (it's criminal), and some new County digs in downtown:

https://ithacating.com/2019/03/31/news-tidbits-3-31-19/
