I don't see the WTC resemblance, unless you're getting it from the base somehow. Anyway, the floor plates here are much too small for the size office buildings they are building at the WTC. Just compare it to 30 Hudson to get an idea.

I think this is my favorite tower of the complex. I love the glass and stone.

This is the worst offender amongst the complexes' myriad buildings. I hate the blocky base, looks like a kids lego project ( or an Institution) and the unyielding harsh facade. Value engineering is a pretty awful thing. This dude is just on par with stupid Larry with this kind of phillistine cost cutting. This is similar to what happened to wtc3. Do you remember how it was supposed to look? They squared the graceful curved tower off most likely to get more square footage and gave ny the short end of the stick with this comically redacted tower. Limestone doesn't save it, sorry mr. Ross. That's a cute marketing blurb that some idiots will lap up. Lucky for you the public doesn't care or is ignorant. Most likely the latter. I'm talking about the rich people buying in the tower. They know little about what makes good buildings look good.

I live in an area with many curved glassy condo buildings. Curvy blue glass buildings are nothing new, they grew like mushrooms in the 90's and 2000's. Curved can be trite: "Oh look at me, I'm curved!". It's been done already , A LOT. OTOH 35 HY stone/glass and curves/rectilinear combination is quite nice and I like the way it glows warmly with the setting sun. Quite a handsome building IMO.

It really does, actually. How would 35 Hudson look with a spire like Trump Chicago's?

What is the correct height of this tower? The title says 1,039 but the diagrams page says 1,009.

CTBUH says 1009'. It also says 1268' for 30 HY. It's probably because the site is roughly 30' above sea level and "elevation" became lost in translation to "height" somewhere down the line.

As I understand it, AMSL is the default computation used by the council.

CTBUH doesn't always get it right. Your best source for height info is the DOB, and even then you don't always get the full height until you look at the DOB diagrams.

Why don't you knock some other city? Your inferiority complex vis-à-vis NY is ridiculous. If you made incessant, negative posts like this in Chicago or Atlanta threads, you would have been banned long ago.
