Ever since I got interested in architecture and cities, the Rust Belt area of the USA has held a special place in my heart. It may be on hard times in many places, but to this day, I feel home whenever I am in the Rust Belt. The cities just have this amazing feeling to them. So here are some of my photos from my travels to the Rust Belt.
You don't have to share my love for the area. But I do love the Rust Belt and would gladly work in many of the cities there.

I agree, the Rust Belt is quite cool. Great photos, looks like you've been to a lot of it! There are some US cities that would be cool to live in, but things like health care are a huge turnoff.

You and me both! I may not be from the region, but I root for the Rust Belt cities. To me, they are some of the most interesting places in the nation.
Great pics! By most accounts, St. Louis is considered an island extension of the greater Rust Belt, given its historical, industrial and commercial ties to the region. You should visit!

Also, is Chicago really a rust belt city? One city that has not been mentioned is Indianapolis. Is Indianapolis a rust belt city?
Chicago is absolutely a rust belt town. We have diversified and bounced back better than most, but that is evidenced mostly downtown and on the North Side. This city's heavy industrial past is still evident on the South and West sides (which make up over 80% of the city, geographically). Those sides of town are pure rust belt. Chicago used to be one of the largest steel producers in the world.
I too love the Rust Belt. Wonderful mix of pics Mike. Great stuff. btw, at first I thought this might be Buffalo, but on second look I'm guessing Cleveland:
