A little bird told me that plans are coming together for one of the worst lots in the city, bounded by Rush/Illinois/Wabash/Hubbard. Preliminary plans about 55 stories. Anticipated start date mid-late next year. Eventually two towers, but tower #2 plans aren't as far along.
Fantastic news! This will leave only a handful of block-sized lots left in the greater downtown area stretching from Roosevelt to Division

For those who don't know the area, the first project looks to be the second phase of Harper Court.
That second one made me nervous. I thought it was going to replace that nice existing building, but the plan is to incorporate that structure. Here's a little info;
I was hoping for something bigger than 55 stories since this is one of the largest lots literally one block from Michigan avenue... this was at one was point part of the realtors buildings larger plan of demolition and having a large "rockerfeller center" type building at this site but that obviously was scrapped.
Yes this one is all residential. Could have been a good spot for something with more impact but seeing anything at that lot is fine with me at this point.
I don't think anyone reported this yet, but Case has been on the Clark and Barlow site since the beginning of this week. It's probably under construction by now...
