If it's real brick it'll be nice. Please Lord no more of that faux brick paneling we've seen on Hayden and Hyatt House Extended Stay.

Upon further inspection the bracing is a bit funky, but cool concept that will be interesting for the neighborhood.

That's a sexy rendering. Bring on the wrecking crew.

I don't know why, but I'm digging the wonky braces actually... I'd dig them if they were normal looking too though

There are signs on the building that a restaurant might go into the Carson's space. Something like 626 or some similar address number as a name.

That kind of sucks. I wish someone would do something with the parcel - put a mid or high rise with ground floor retail/commercial space.

I'm kinda happy the condo proposal got killed. Too low density/high parking ratio for Wells St.

Speaking of dead projects, 1061 W. Van Buren (Harry Potter Tower) seems to be dead. Related Midwest is proposing a 26 story high rise there

1061 W. Van Buren | 300ft | 351 units | 69 (nice) parking spots

I wanted to get some photos yesterday afternoon/evening around the city, but the visibility was horrible... Today should be better

Related Midwest, Pizzuti team up on West Loop apartment tower

Pizzuti had planned on building a 432-unit high-rise on West Van Buren Street by itself but will now develop the site with Related Midwest, which recently completed a 300-unit tower next door.

Quote:
Less than 15 months after completing a big apartment building in the West Loop, Related Midwest is teaming up with another developer to build even more apartments next door.

Chicago-based Related Midwest has filed a proposal with the city for a 26-story, 351-unit tower at 1061 W. Van Buren St., just west of Landmark West Loop, a 300-unit building the developer finished in fall 2017. Pizzuti, a Columbus, Ohio-based developer, proposed a 432-unit high-rise there nearly five years ago but never got the project off the ground.

Now, Pizzuti, mainly known here for building industrial projects, and Related Midwest plan to develop the property together. The site runs along the north side of the Eisenhower Expressway, several blocks south of the hottest section of the West Loop, the Fulton Market District, but across the highway from the University of Illinois at Chicago and not far from the Illinois Medical District.

Quote:
Related Midwest has hired Chicago-based STLArchitects to design the tower, according to a spokeswoman. Miami-based Arqitectonica had designed Pizzuti’s building.

So STL is replacing Arquitectonica, if I read that correctly? Which means that the Harry Potter building design is no more...?

The office tower slated to go behind it at the Coyne College lot should fill it completely. I won't be there to see that happen though :/

Dam that's too bad. And that elevations doesn't look that interesting either.
