Smile NEW YORK | 572 Eleventh Avenue | FT | 12 FLOORS

Project: 572 Eleventh Avenue

Quote:
We now have official word that there will be 165 units, and while we do not yet know whether they will be condos or rentals, they will span almost 125,000 square feet of space. With residences averaging approximately 750 square feet apiece, rentals would appear likely.

572 Eleventh Avenue will appear decidedly contemporary, and most importantly, the rendering shows a PTAC-free facade. The lower floors will offer solid exteriors, yielding to floor-to-ceiling glass along the upper floors. Small setbacks will also create intermingled terraces as the building rises.

No completion date has been formally announced but 2018 would appear to be a likely target.

Made a small update to the directory (1st post): http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...51&postcount=1

Also be sure to check out that development map. An alternative to the SSP one.

New Gif replaces the one previously there. Shows supertalls in the near future.

Smile NEW YORK | 319 West 35th Street | 250 FT | 24 FLOORS

Project: 319 West 35th Street

Quote:
Peter Poon Architects has designed nearly two dozen hotels across the city, and now another one of their glassy structures is coming to the area near Penn Station. Mayflower Business Group has filed new building applications for a 24-story hotel at 319 West 35th Street, between Eighth and Ninth avenues.

The 250-foot-tall building would rise next to the 25-story Even Hotel, which was finished late last year and was also designed by Peter Poon. Mayflower’s hotel would hold 170 rooms and just 58,754 square feet of commercial space, for a typical room of 350 feet.

The plans call for a warming pantry, dining room, housekeeping offices, a breakroom, and an exercise room in the cellar levels, followed by a lobby with an upper mezzanine, and then six to eight rooms per floor, beginning on the second floor.

Mayflower, which is headed by Weihong Hu, picked up the development site for $28 million in May. The site has a pair of five-story, pre-war buildings, which hold a combination of 24 rental apartments and four commercial units, according to The Real Deal.

Some CTBUH stats (For August 2016):

New York City: (Complete)

100m + : 770

150m + : 243 complete :: 40 u/c

200m + : 59

300m + : 7 complete :: 8 u/c

So 40 towers u/c (150m+) and out of that, 8 are (300m +)

As a supplement to the gif above.

Long Island City Unit Stats and Transit Stats:

If you look at the units u/c and the ones current, its really a small little city that can compare to a lot of bigger ones in the U.S..
