I was thinking more of the colour stacking, on the ship there is a randomness to the colours of the containers, a lack of symmetry. On the buildings it is perfectly symmetrical.

Hi all,

I am moving to Halifax this summer and am looking at some units in Southport. If anyone has a chance, could they try and get a photo showing the units on the East side of the building (facing the trains/harbour)?

Cheers!

East side would get the morning sun, but none after that.

The east-facing side is the narrower part on the left.

Went to take a peak inside during Doors Open and its still far from ready, but I did notice this lovely concrete detail in the lobby.

It's funny how people's perspectives are different Jono. Most if not all the construction workers on site hated that wall. They felt it had a very unfinished look.

An appreciation for well finished concrete was my very first lesson in architecture. Growing up in Halifax we have so much concrete architecture that it takes a while to understand the differences and subtleties of what is good and what is bad. This is just beautiful!

You would LOVE the walls in the unfinished part of my basement. Maybe I need to add some sexy lighting, a copper counter, some reclaimed seating, and have a speakeasy down there.

I agree Jono. Both unfinished and finished have their place and if done right both are great to look at and appreciate. I personally think this wall is great, however i may have been the only one to think so...lol

This might seem like an odd idea, but if every so often the board imprints could be realistically painted to appear as actual wood, it could give a neat contrast between concrete and the actual material that caused the imprint.

Overall I think it's a nice effect but would like to see the finished product before giving my stamp of approval...

Turned out better than expected. It seems to work and is better than the vinyl clad disasters in the area.

I like it, except I find all the typography on the facade a bit garish (except for the Southport sign above the entrance).
