I took this photo last evening as I was walking to the Gahan House Restaurant in downtown Moncton:

I thought the visual layering was interesting and shows how the downtown east end of the city is transforming. The Blue Cross Centre is to the left (partly reflected in the blue glass panelling of the Bank of Montreal Building in the centre foreground). The Marriott Hotel is to the right. The small building next to the BMO building in the centre foreground contains the Clos restaurant, which is one of the better high end restaurants in the city. I had the tasting menu there once a few months back, (nine courses), which was quite exotic. One of the courses was a quail heart on a thin slice of toast with a very interesting garnish. Quail hearts are pretty tiny.

The building in the background is FiveFive Queen, which contains condos, a high end liquor store, the Canvas Tapestry Hotel by Hilton, and the Gahan House restaurant, which was our destination.

Moncton is growing up...........

Rimouski is interesting.. need to learn more about the place. Other than knowing they have a junior hockey team, can't say I know a lot more about it other than where it's located.

Love the third Halifax pic of the mainly glass building, gorgeous warm glow at night from inside. Has an inviting human scale look inside and out.

Here's a few more from Victoria on Instagram. I wish I had the time and energy to tell the story of these like SignalHillHiker.. maybe one day when I retire, lol. It makes random photos more interesting and meaningful and that way you learn something about the city, or more often about the person, especially as SHH posts his own pics. But this is neither, lol, so be prepared to be disappointed.

Maybe a sort of night theme at least:

Funnily enough pretty much everybody i met in the ROC, especially in Alberta and BC (even more so in Victoria), said the exact same thing as you when saying I was from Rimouski. At least you know where its located!

Edit: I also like to say that the name Rimouski comes from a Micmac word meaning ''Terre à l'orignal'' or ''Land of the moose''. The region is also home of one of the largest moose hunting playground in the province.

New restaurant opening soon in downtown Moncton, less than a block from the Avenir Centre arena.

The name of the restaurant is a nice play on words...........

Yes.. it took me a minute to figure that out, lol. Sometimes the brain just reads the words and doesn't sound them out in your head. Hope it's a nice addition for Moncton, I had a couple very good meals at Tide and Boar.

A few random Victoria shots from Instagram, one day I'll do a better theme set on Chinatown, Victoria coast line, neighbourhoods, etc. if anyone is interested.

Those are some of the most unique angles of Victoria I think I've ever seen... I don't recall ever seeing the back of the Legislative Buildings before.

I agree. It looks like it belongs in Vienna more than Victoria.

Couple of years old, the LNG site is just getting cleared and the Gravel mountain is still in the picture. (the grey patch just below the smoke from the smelter). That hill has been moved as base material for the LNG. and would be out of the picture now.
