I wouldn't hold your breath for Montreal and a GC. If renovations are on a timeline for the 2026 World Cup the. It isn't crazy to think the CFL won't award a GC to Montreal up until then. If they have stayed away from both Toronto and Hamilton for 20+ year stretches, no reason they wouldn't do the same for Montreal. .

Rumor out there Lions might change their uniforms in 2019.

I think this would be an improvement as the Adidas design for BC in 2016 made their road unis look like the creamsicle 1970's woeful Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It looks like the home numbers will be outlined in white and thus easier to read. It's basically a 95% retreat to the traditional look.

Totally agree, it drives me nuts ever time I look at them.

Damn, Manziel kicked out of the entire CFL.

What did you do, Johnny?

Just kidding, don't answer that, I don't care. Buh bye.

There's a dark cloud following the Montreal Alouettes. Just another player that was suppose to destroy the CFL dwindled to nothing.

Must've done something pretty bad to have his contract voided and not allowed to play in the CFL.

“We are disappointed by this turn of events. Johnny was provided a great deal of support by our organization, in collaboration with the CFL, but he has been unable to abide by the terms of his agreement,” general manager Kavis Reed said in a statement. “We worked with the league and presented alternatives to Johnny, who was unwilling to proceed.”

Probably has something to do with him willing to play in the AAF.

You don't get kicked out of an entire league because you want to go to the AAF.

James Wilder Jr. wanted to go to the NFL last season but he was under contract with Toronto and stayed.

Would refusing to go to practice or do team events void the terms of his contract agreement? Spitballing but it seems likely in my head.

No, but like Hikka said he might have done something to pursue this objective that was against the terms of his contract.

^ I'm sure when he inevitably signs a AAF or XFL deal, he won't dissuade people from saying that. I mean, what else is he going to do?

I would say yes but I'm thinking it might be something more to do with counseling or drug treatments I think he was obligated to take.

It's somewhat of a shame because I thought he could have brought something to the table. I didn't care or know much about his history, I only considered what I saw on the CFL field and he seemed to have a feel for the game.

Montreal does indeed have some potential at QB and does have some talent and is not the train wreck haterz have said. But this certainly doesn't help with the perception and it's not even their fault.

I'd guess his release and ban has to do with things that happened off the field. Johnny Football has a history of alcohol abuse and domestic violence...

Lulay retires, unless it's injury related i'm guessing that he didn't want to move to another Canadian city as I'm sure Montreal would take a chance on him. Never understood this guy, he could have been a starting pivot on about 4 or 5 over the past 4 years. You think that professional players, especially QBs would want to be a starter no matter what but Travis seemed just fine letting Jennings come in and be number 1.
