I'm guessing they will install the handle next weekend or the weekend after? If you can, please take photos. I would love to see another skyline photo with The Vue and Duke Energy Center. I've seen recent photos at the Observer and this building looks great on the skyline.

It looks like they have put up some framing to support the "handle" which will be lifted and installed in sections. Unfortunately between my schedule and all the rain during my off days I haven't been able to take any photos of the progress. I was able to snap this photo from a parking deck in Southpark, which gives a good comparison of the heights. The cranes near the middle of the skyline are for the Vue. The 30 floor 1BofA construction can't really be see - it is a little right of Hearst town and is around 9 or so floors so far I think.

I love this building. It's a bookend to the BofA HQ. Hearst is still my favorite though. I can't wait to see the handle and also how this thing lights up at night.

I agree. Hearst is also my favorite.

Someone at the Winston-Salem forum said this building has topped-out, which I'm guessing is the completion of the handle? Is the handle in place? I found a recent update of the new BofA Tower. It is moving slowly. This building (Duke Energy Center) slowed-down over the past few months. Someone told me it would top-out (handle) in March. At one time it appeared as if no progress was made. I guess it is the economy? The view is moving fast though. The same person said The Vue is around 400 feet at present. I'm guessing The Vue is making a dramatic impact on the skyline from the other side of the skyline?

I read where the handle is going up this morning. Hopefully someone will come over here and post a pic.

The Vue will make an impact from the West. I guess due to the topography of Uptown it won't seem as tall from an Eastern view.

You should also start seeing 1 Bank of America growing from the east/south side.

They have two supports in place that will be removed once the "handle" is in place. I believe there is supposed to be another level of the handle that will go on top, making the handle a triangle shape. I took these Friday:

Awesome shots. Love how you just fly around to get your pics. Also, I like how you got the three new museums being built and the new theater. The whole arts campus is coming along quick. The Mint Museum is much larger than I thought.

It looks better in aerials! I love the park space. I didn't notice it before.

People love or hate the Hearst Tower. Most who hate it say it appears top-heavy. I love the crown at night and the art deco details. A tower larger at the top is also interestingly different. The interior is also interesting. Another building in Charlotte I love is Three Wells Fargo Center.

There will be another level to the "handle" and the two supports in the middle will be removed. From Friday:

This week they added the top level to the "handle" portion of the building. Once the handle in secured, they will remove the two support from under it. At this point, it is pretty much topped out.

No, you're right. The slope up the the handle starts at two different levels. You can see it in this photo:
