Another eBay find. Following the recent discussion about house prices (especially the prices of Spiros Ponty's post-war houses), this is 2927 Washington Avenue, Santa Monica in 1980.

It seems that the picture originally accompanied a New York Times article, and was captioned "High prices for small houses". Underneath it says, "Symptomatic of the high prices that California houses command, this two-bedroom house in Los Angeles recently was listed at $269,500.

The entrance has been changed a bit, but the window on the right has stayed the same. All the property sites I've checked say that it's now a three-bedroom house, and they seem to agree on a build date of 1937. One of those websites,
trulia.com, lists two previous sales. The house sold for $765,000 on 10/15/2001, and then for $1,750,000 on 11/29/2005 - nearly a million dollars profit in four years isn't bad going! What the property sites don't agree on is the current value. My quick Google gave prices between $1,828,025 and $2,106,400.
