Florence and Venice are two of few famous European cities I haven't been to yet. Looks amazing!

Was last there in 2000. Had a great time. We stayed at an unusual hotel near the train station. There were six floors in the building, and each floor was a separate hotel. One level's hotel looked really scary, while the others were OK. On the ground floor, part of the building was held up by makeshift posts due to earthquake damage. That wasn't very reassuring.

Had lots of fun and of course saw Michelangelo's David, which I believe was 17 feet tall. The building it is in didn't stand out, and we were surprised when we realized that the building was actually the museum (Galleria dell'Accademia).

The noisy vespas were amazing. They were like swarms of insects.

I did a self-ridden Vespa tour and it was a great way to see the city and the surrounding countryside!

Was it this clear the whole time you were there? I visited there in Fall of 1995 and it was hazy and dreary, not like this!

Hmm interesting, I did not notice any haze or smog or anything like that. It was very clear the entire time we were there!
