Great shot. Always liked the 7th Street Med Center angle. The Sheraton kinda kills it though.

A little strange in that it looks like a city of 1,000,000 or so. The city is much less built up than some other sunbelt areas like Atlanta or Houston.

What are the main industries in Phoenix? Why isn't the city more centralized? I could see the climate being an issue for pedestrian-oriented areas.

Growth. And a lot of light manufacturing and electronics type stuff that general is in low slug campus style buildings, not high rises.

Zillions of reasons. But mostly because it was a post war city built where land was cheap and there was plenty of it. In the past 5 years though we've seen a lot of densification and there seems to be a very high demand for it and more urban, walkable living, so the City is certainly growing up, changing, etc.
